Polliwog Swim Vereeniging – At Polliwog Swim, we aspire to provide quality affordable learn to swim lessons for all ages from 6 months. Our goal is to create safe, confident swimmers while providing the best experience possible. We aim to make a significant contribution to reducing the number of drownings in South Africa and as such, we aspire to enable water confidence in children. We strive to teach skills plus water safety.
Limiting the class size to 5 enables us to encourage an enjoyable and safe learning environment. Smaller class sizes allow individual attention for each swimmer. We strive to ensure each swimmer has a happy swimming experience with us, and for each parent to have peace of mind. Below is a description of the type of lessons we offer. Swimmers are assessed and placed in the type of lesson appropriate for their age and/or abilities.
Baby Classes for babies age 6 months to 3 years
Babies join the water with a parent/caretaker. This class focuses on water adjustments, basic skills, pool exploration and water safety. Our program is based on the Swim Dynamics Instructor Training methods of instruction. Swimmers are evaluated twice a year to track their progress.
Beginner Classes for swimmers age 3 upwards to adults
This class focuses on building confidence, water safety and skills. All the recognised strokes, Front Crawl, Backstroke, Breast Stroke and Butterfly, are taught. Swimmers are evaluated twice a year to track their progress.
Pre-Schools
We offer classes at the premises. It is the responsibility of the school to bring swimmers to the facility. Our program is based on the Swim Dynamics Instructor Training methods of instruction. Swimmers are evaluated twice a year to track their progress.
SPECIAL NEEDS
We are able to offer an improved swimming and/or aerobic experience for children or adults with special needs through our knowledge of different conditions and adaptations in the water. Our service offering is based on a medical history risk assessment and agreed prior to commencement of classes.
We do not offer therapy for children or adults with special needs.
WATER AEROBICS
These classes are fun and filled with great exercises to tone your whole body and increase cardiovascular and strength levels. Impact on the joints are eliminated, blood circulation, digestion & bone density improved, and even symptoms of osteoporosis & asthma, in most cases, are relieved.
